WiCell Expands Characterization Services with New Flow Cytometry Characterization Assays

PRESS RELEASE

December 16, 2024

Madison, WI
—WiCell, a leader in stem cell research and technology, is proud to announce the expansion of its Characterization Services with two new flow cytometry assays: the Undifferentiated Status and Pluripotency Assays. These new assays provide researchers with reliable, quantitative tools to ensure the integrity and quality of their stem cell lines for applications in stem cell biology, drug discovery, and regenerative medicine.

The Undifferentiated Status Assay evaluates the self-renewal capacity of stem cell lines by measuring the dual expression of key markers, Oct4 and Nanog, through flow cytometry, to quantify population heterogeneity. This allows researchers to verify culture purity and monitor differentiation status of stem cell lines over time.

The Pluripotency Assay combines in vitro differentiation, using the STEMDiff™ Trilineage Differentiation Kit (STEMCELL Technologies Inc), with flow cytometry-based quantification of lineage-specific markers to demonstrate cell line pluripotency.

WiCell’s experienced team ensures that every assay is conducted with the highest level of quality and precision, providing clients with data they can trust.

“With over 25 years of stem cell expertise, WiCell is dedicated to providing researchers with the tools needed to maintain the highest standards of quality and consistency,” said Robert Drape, CEO at WiCell. “These new assays are just one of the many ways we continue to support the scientific community and advance stem cell research.”
